  1. Psychological, Medical, Therapeutic services for the children including speech therapists
  2. URGENT: 18 new toilets for our baby center and school-None of toilets are working for over 46 children & staff
  3. Age appropriate toys for babies 0-36 months
  4. Workshops for Staff

  15. Project Transformation. Improving academic and behavioral outcomes for children at Maxfield Park Children’s Home. 

    ​ Program Period: 12 Months
     Program Impact:
    1.     Improve staff competencies
    2.     Improve intellectual and psychosocial functioning of the children by providing them with a range of services including after-school academic assistance, structured play and cultural activities and therapeutic services.
    3.     Improve age-appropriate competencies, enhance self-esteem and reduce inappropriate behaviours.
      Program Outcomes:
    1.     Staff interventions demonstrate improvement in quality as a result of participating in state of the art professional development workshops
    2.     Children have access to programming that will facilitate age-appropriate competencies.
    3.     The overall quality of services offered at MPCH will improve.
    Program Cost: $65,000 USD
VOLUNTARY SERVICES 
(corporate, church, community, foundations, individuals, etc.) to assist with the following projects/programmes:
(The home is situated on 6.5 acres of land)

  • Home work Programme
  • Extra Lessons Teachers
  • Drama and/or Art Teachers
  • IT Teachers
  • Religious Education Teachers and Programme
  • Personal Hygiene and/or Personal Education
  • Sports Programmes
  • Chest  Lessons
  • Barbering
  • Refitting of Computer/Homework Room with computers, printer and WiFi
  • Clean-up Day Projects
  • Vegetable garden and plants – resuscitation project
  • Removal of old and rusty equipment around the premises 
  • Major mowing of the premises and pruning of trees
  • Rebuilding of outdoor benches and painting tree trunks
  • Repair and/or installation of JPS polls
  • Installation of JPS poll lights
  • Building of outdoor cement tables and benches
  • Re-build/repair and paint sign post at entrance of gate
  • Renovation of 2 old forty foot containers
  • Major renovation of Auditorium – 90 years old
    • General refurbishing including but not exclusive:
      • Reinforcing structure 
      • Repair and replacement of roof, windows, doors, ceiling
      • Repair corridor and steps
      • Repair bathrooms and changing rooms
      • Install stage
      • Paint

      • Trestle Tables 
      • Round Tables
      • Table cloths
      • White board/screen

  • Major renovation of old office building – 90 years old
  • Refurbish  babies and toddlers units (Jelliffe)
  • Refurbish/redesign toddlers outdoor play area
  • Heighten/reinforce perimeter wall and fence – serious security breach 

The main Playground:
  • Paint the frames of the swings and the playground boundary walls
